Why is there no TKL keyboards with Matias switches?
« on: Mon, 27 July 2015, 23:39:24 »
I've been looking for a TKL keyboard with Matias switches (particularly the quiet switch), but it seems all the keyboards available with Matais switches are 60%, 75%, full-size, or ergonomic/split. Are there any standard TKL Matias keyboards out there at all?

Don't think so. I know they have TKL or similar boards in development though. Few pics in this post and the one right above: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=70449.msg1799482#msg1799482

Thanks! Looks like we're getting more Matias options now. I like the switch but never liked the keyboards, but now it looks like I can finally get the switch in keyboard layouts I prefer.

Has it actually been sold yet, or it's still in pre-order phase? The product page says it's out-of-stock and I can't add it to the wishlist or registry (and I made sure I logged in and tried different web browsers).

Apparently they had a very limited quantity that sold out

I have a KBparadise V80 MTS. It has Quiet switches and was ordered from mechanicalkeyboards.com. It is just what you would expect: a TKL board with plate mounted Matias Quiet switches, similar to a WASD v2 or any other TKL board. Yes, they sold out quickly. I pre-ordered mine.

I sent them an email and the reply is that it'll likely be available again in a month or two.

I would totally buy a V80 MTS if I didn't already have a Filco Zero.

Even still, I may end up swapping out the Fukka white Alps in my Filco for some Matias switches. I've got both quiets and clicks coming from BlueNalgene's buy, so whichever one I like better I'll probably buy more of them for the Filco.

I'm using my V80 MTS with Quiet Click and Alps double-shot white on black keys at home.

The Matias quiet (damped tactile) switch, compared to others, has a higher, more sudden actuation point. It certainly is quiet - more so than a Topre. I'm considering swapping out the Matias switches for cream damped switches from an AEK II.

I'd be very happy if Vortex made their white-on-black doubleshots in an Alps mount.
