I dig being part of a community

Especially one as cool as this!

I recently picked up my first mechanical keyboard based off a post on the "great finds" forum - a Cherry G80-11900.

I've got myself a set of miami (the pink and blue) PBT keyset from Tai Hao and a NPKC 17 Switch Tester off Massdrop in the works - international shipping is killer.

Never realised how great of a hobby this could be - or that there was even this large of a following strictly to keyboards.

You use keyboards everyday - so make em frikkin fun

I'm interested in modding my own board, others, and eventually putting together my own custom board.

Looking forward to future transactions, trades, tips/tricks, discussion, and small talk on the geekhack forum.

Welcome to Geekhack!

You've come to the right place, for inspiration and technical know-how :)

And it is amazing how much there is to know about keyboards, and most people don't even notice what they are typing on!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
