Problems with pok3r? Need help!
« on: Fri, 31 July 2015, 12:29:22 »
Hey!

I have a question about whether or not anyone has had a problem with their pok3r, or whether or not this is a software issue on my side.

My pok3r goes haywire when plugged in. If I am in browser, it opens up tabs continuously until unplugged, and if I re plug or FN+R, the minute a key is pressed, tabs continue to be opened. Sometimes it only uses the shortcut of what is pressed, like it will print when I click p. In games like CS:GO it will open up the chat box and just type squares. Keys won't work, like the escape, enter and m. If I plug in another keyboard, the problems persist through on to that keyboard as well although not as severely, just some keys won't register.

This happened the first day I got it, but went away after about an hour so I gave it no thought. But my pok3r is now unusable. My computer was recently wiped so I don't know what could be the issue. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

It's a black pok3r with clears if that is of any importance!

It sounds like your Control key is stuck down. For instance, ctrl + t opens a new tab. Ctrl + p would print. So, I guess check those control keys! I don't know why it would keep happening if you unplug the Poker and use something else, that would point to an issue with your PC, I would think. Do you use any remapping software? Could there be something in your OS that is messing with your key mapping?

Ahh, This was my initial thought, but the control thing only happens sometimes and after the main issue. I notice it most often when I'm in browser so I'll use it as an example, although the problem persists in game and while on desktop. When I'm typing in browser, midway it will open up tabs showing the source code of a page (this is consistent no matter what key is pressed) until either the browser crashes or I unplug or FN+R. I also don't use any remapping software and I'm currently running Windows 8.1, but this problem only started when I first received my pok3r. I also just wiped everything off my computer and am running from a new copy of Windows so I'm completely lost here! Thanks for response!

Have you tried using another keyboard? Have you tried updating the firmware?

Are you using Firefox, if so the key combo to view page source is Ctrl + u. I still think this is an issue with your control keys, or something in the OS making it think the control key is being pressed. Maybe it would be worth while for you to download Switch Hitter from EK. It might help you see what is going on. https://elitekeyboards.com/switchhitter.php

I have tried using another keyboard and the problems persist although to a lesser degree afterwards. For example although the enter, esc, and m wouldn't work on the pok3r, m and escape would work when I plugged in a new keyboard. I have also updated firmware!

It happens on Google Chrome and Firefox, I will give this a try thank you!

EDIT: Ok so I used the program you gave me, and it shows that the keys ESC, 7,U,J,M, BACKSPACE, \, ENTER, and RIGHT CNTRL, so basically one key on the left, the whole row under 7, and everything on the right except for right shift are being constantly pressed down, and this is on another computer. They will also continue to be pressed down until the key is pressed with another keyboard that works. Would you possibly know how to go about fixing this?
