Well, the tagloot.com page you first linked says "Keys are made of plastic, however they are colored to give you the impression that they are made of bamboo". I'm inclined to believe what it says. :-)
Wood... what a fashion statement.
In the early 90's Nike came out with a prototype sneaker called the "Air Wood". It was one of their standard cross trainer shoes that was all the rage then. The only difference was that the midsole was cosmetically altered to look like it was made of wood.
I don't think it ever made it to market. I saw this hilarious looking model at one of their outlet stores for $15. The identical shoes without the "wooden" midsole went for around $45.
