Key often doesn't register or repeats
« on: Tue, 04 August 2015, 14:04:53 »
I just built an Ergodox and often the "L" key will either not register at all, or will register 2-3 times even though I only tapped it once. Does anyone have an idea about possible causes?

First thing to try is to reflow that one switch. Maybe post some good pictures of that area on the PCB.

Could be a bad switch. Could be a bad solder joint.

Get a multimeter and test the joint. If the joint is good, try swapping the switch.

Reflow? Does that mean just re-solder?

I turned over the board and I think I found a clue. While I can't be sure, I believe this is a possible cause of the issue:

It seems that I forgot to solder that joint.

 :llama:

Guess I missed that!

Thank you guys for your expertise.
