Cherry stabilizer troubles

Hello everyone,

I have a ducky mini with mx reds and I quite like to type on it! However, the backspace key really is getting on my nerves. I have o-ringed the board with red 40A-L. It feels really soft and nice to type when you are in the flow of things, but being cherry red and I am not the most accurate of typists I make quite a lot of mistakes. This obliges me to use the backspace key an awful lot more than I would like. The backspace really rattles with an awfully high pitch when pressed left of the center(which is where I always press automatically). It really takes me out of the flow of typing and it really takes away a lot of the pleasure of typing on the board. The left shift and enter keys also have a slight tendency towards rattling but not nearly as bad as the backspace key. In fact it buggers me so much that I am now using the backspace key naked without a keycap. Unfortunately it is not very easy to aim exactly for the switch when typing and also the keys around which lie higher obstructing the access to it a bit.

So is there any way to fix it? I heard the stabilizers on ducky mini are notorious for being 'mushy', is that the problem I am dealing with here?

I've heard that putting a small (~1cm) square of thin plastic, say from a ziplock bag or plastic shopping bag) over the switch before you put the keycap on, so that the bag is squashed into the keycap stem by the switch, may help.

Unfortunately this happens quite a bit. You can try lubing the stabs or as rowdy said adding a square of plastic wrap to see if its a cap looseness problem ? Good luck and keep us update !

Or you could just increase your typing accuracy so you don't have to hit backspace anymore.

Thanks for the help everyone. I haven't tried the piece of plastic yet but I will and let you guys know how it went. I sent a message to the seller and is willing to give me 50% off on my next purchase, which is very nice! Hearing this is common complaint, can I expect this to happen again with the KUL-es 87 with mx blacks I am about to buy?

I honestly wished they were still selling the quickfire rapid with mx black where I live... Now cooler master doesn't even sell a TKL with blacks anymore over here. Hoping that the stabiliser issue is somewhat less with mx blacks and on the KUL. Didn't have any problems with a ducky shine 3 with mx browns previously. I'll keep this up to date if I find a fix.
