This message will self destruct in 5 years
« on: Wed, 02 September 2015, 17:07:12 »
Hi all!

I like:  games, drinks, cars, girls, camping, roadtrips in US, useless gadgets and others crap like steelbooks, custom keyboards (don't have any), keycaps and much more...
I dislike: ANSI  :p

I'm a semi-noob in this scene so I'm relaxed as I have not wasted a fortune on keyscaps and grease yet.
Like usual noob I own mostly gaming keyboards loaded with cherrys - Steelseries G7 (blacks, will be pimped with Carbon SA Keycap Set), Ducky Mini YoftH (browns) and Zowie Celeritas (browns, used by my gf). A brand new IBM Model M from 1998 (Scandinavian layout, made in UK) is on its way to me (currently in transit), cant wait for that BS. Still in doubt whether or not I should use it - or archive it for the sake of the history :)

tl;dr
Hi! I like cool stuff and weird people.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Use the Model M - that's what they were made for :p

Nice collection you've started, next up you need a Topre keyboard.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Topre boards are amazing! I started with a Type Heaven because I didn't want to spend all my money on a keyboard. Used it for about a year and now I've got a Topre Leopold and a Silenced HHKB. Next on my list in a Realforce TKL 55g!
