The Topre Meme
« on: Thu, 10 September 2015, 17:45:18 »
Okay. I got my first Happy Hacking Professional 2 some days ago and did a lot of typing the last week.

Holy ****ing ****! These switches are no meme at all. Even though I expected quite  A LOT from the board, coming from a Poker II (red), my expectations were more than fullfilled. The price is absolutely okay for the quality you get. It is ridiculous how much this feeling actually influences the commitment to the writings. As you see, I am more than overwhelmed.

I cannot speak for the typing feel or ease of use, but I do think it is a very handsome board.  I like the color and I like the case and how there is a bit of an exposed bezel on the corners.
KPB V60 Gateron Browns and Leopold Keycaps.  Poker 3 with Gateron Browns and Poker keycaps.  Poker 3 with Cherry MX Browns, ABS keycaps and white LED's.

Leopold FC660M- my new favorite, right out of the box.

I voted not to have one made :I Gotta be a scrooge here, just don't see the point for that board, I just wish the HHKB had a little more weight to it

Something that might achieve what you want; Livingspeedbump has a custom cut steel plate in his that adds some extra weight, so talk to him maybe?

Thorpe love :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Nice! I'd want to try an HHKB one of these days, but I don't know if I'd enjoy going to 45g switches. The form factor is really nice though!

Or just open the case and put some lead weights in there if you need to fool yourself that weight = quality.

I love my Realforce 87UB. There was definitely a break-in phase for me. The honeymoon was not great, but the marriage is proving far better.
I believe the price is high, even at $215, but I love mine so much I'm already putting aside money for an Anniversary 55g edition.

They're really nice, I'm in love with mine. Getting used to the arrow Fn cluster was tricky at first but now it seems very natural, its great never having to stretch my fingers too far to the right to reach them.

That's a really cute little sculpture in your avatar too ssdt!
May all your key presses strike true.

The arrow position is quite nice, I have my Poker remapped this way, because I liked it better after reading about it. :D

I love my little ganesha, fits the dark setup of my desktop.

HHKB may not be a meme, but it is still super dank.
I don't think it means what you think it means.
Are you serious?

Not the literal definition of dank.  :))
