That's my mom's birthday so I might be visiting her.

Either way might miss out because my girlfriend is 20 and wouldn't be able to go out for drinks and I'm not gonna go without her.

I think it will be more of a dinner thing.  I would be down for someplace decent with a good selection of on tap beer.

That would make more sense.
Some places like  Dave & Busters (Demik says is unacceptable.) don't work for me. But that shouldnt stop the selection. If we can go, we'll go.

I'll see about the date and time the closer it gets.

What wrench said.  We're not looking to drink heavily; at least, I'm not.  It's really just a chill get together to actually meet some of you ****ers that I always talk to.

Aight. Sounds good :thumb:

I just figured everyone talking about grabbing a drink would lead to this being a bar hangout thing.

I'll let Sarah know :D

I agree with demik on that one as well.  I was thinking more along the lines of Carl Stouse or BJ's.

Either of those places would work for me.  We can also maybe try finding a place that's a bit more unique.  I dunno about you guys but I love tapas places.  There's a few decent places in the OC.

As long as they have vegetarian options for food, I'm open to whatever.  It's too bad there's no beer and Ethiopian food places around because that would be amazing.  I know there's a lot of awesome breweries in Fullerton.  Riip Brewery in Huntington is killer and is supposed to be on tap at Slater's 50/50 and Urban Seoul and is supposed to have a tasting room open October 15.

Wtf is all this talk about breweries. I thought it was a rule with demik that if you hang out with him, you get boba tea. Discuss.

Oh man, it's been a while since I've been to Riip.  That's a good option.  It's right by the pier, too.  A couple of other places I like are Playground in Downtown Santa Ana, ARC in Costa Mesa, Urban Seoul in Irvine (that nubs mentioned), Cafe Tu Tu Tango in Orange, and The Speakeasy in Huntington Beach.

One of my favorite places is Father's Office up in Santa Monica.  It's far, though.  And you have to be 21 to get in.  Otherwise, they have amazing burgers and always a nice selection of local stuff on tap.  And Pliny the Elder.  Tasty.

Boba afterwards.  Problem solved. :thumb:

Alright, does anyone have anything to say about where we're meeting?  Any comment on what Nubs or I mentioned?  Or suggestions of your own?  If not, I'm just picking a place.  Lol.

Also, I know there's a lot more SoCal GHer's.  Why is everyone so shy all of a sudden?

Just spotted this thread. I won't know my school schedule for November until the beginning of that month(I'm in anesthesia school so i'm a slave to the hospitals I work at) but if I have the day off i'm totally down to meet up.

Also I'm all in on the beers on tap idea. Never been to Riip but i'm always down to try new things

Hope you guys can make it out.  I'm going to edit the OP and put Riip as the spot.  Hopefully they'll be open.  If not, Playground will be the backup.

Going to need to check the schedule with the House Social Committee (aka wife) and make sure she hasn't already booked me on something that she's yet to notify me of or that she said in passing while I was concentrating on something else.

Tentative for now?

I should be able to make it. It will be a great opportunity to meet some of the GH family.

Don't worry. I'll leave early, so as not to cramp anyone's style.

I guess it is all relative.  I have a daily commute of 1 hour each way to work without traffic, so I am very biased.  That, and I really enjoy driving.
