KUL ES-87 with Ducky PBTs
« on: Mon, 28 September 2015, 14:30:42 »
Just a quick pic of my work setup.

I'm trying to get the same setup for home but I can't find anyone else who still carries KUL ES-87s in the US with brown switches.  If anyone has a lead on them lame know!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Looking good! I've always liked the blank green/white (or is it "cream cheese").

Thanks.  Yeah I'm a big fan of the way these keys look and feel.

I managed to track down a white KUL ES-87 for home.  I already have a set of blue/grey Ducky keys to go on it.  I'll make sure to update the original post with pictures of it when it shows up :)

The KUL keyboards are really well built mechs.  It's kind of annoying that they are becoming harder and harder to find.

I very much like mine, except for the ping. I'm hoping it goes away when I swap the switches for Zealios and add some sound deadening behind the plate.

Well my KUL ES-87 in smoke/white came in...

I swapped out the keys for some more Ducky PBT.  I'm not sure if I like it yet... I thought the blue was going to be a bit more teal but it's kinda powder blue so it clashes with the white a bit.

I am thinking about just getting some plain black caps for it but I don't know yet.  It's perfectly serviceable as is.

Weird.  Neither of my KULs have any ping.  I hope you fix it.  I can understand how annoying that must be.
