Outside of living with someone that has more keyboards than I can possibly understand a human needing to own (his website is pretty cool though!), I was quickly immersed into the serious enthusiast side of the hobby over the weekend at the NC meetup. So, I guess this is more of a forum introduction than actual introduction to some of you, as I got the chance to meet quite a few people at the meetup!

So now we've got absyrd, Binge and livingspeedbump all doing tandem Geekhacking with their spouses...anyone I'm missing?

I'm glad for you all but keyboards are my "me time" thing. I kind of enjoy having a hobby that my wife totally doesn't get, she just rolls her eyes at me and I roll my eyes at her scrapbooking.

I have enough crazy hobbies that it can be fun to have some mutual interest in things. Plus mutual interest means I'm allowed to invite an entire meetup to my house again  ;D

Photography is my "family crossover" hobby. As a bonus, it goes well with her scrapbooking.

Welcome to Geekhack!

My other half keeps threatening to join, but she is so far too busy with her own endeavours.

Are you sure you're ready for the insanity of this place?  Has it affected MrSpeedBump much?  I know I'm happy in my happy place with all my keyboards and keycaps :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

So great to see you partake in your parters interest I think this is amazing and If keyboards aren't rifling through your mind 24hrs a day we have a lot of off topic threads ranging from great food you have eaten to great music you have listened to, what new phones people are using, cars ,clothes etc etc i hope we get to chat sometime and sorry to repeat myself but this is great. I haven't had much time to chat with your husband but by all appearances he is a pretty amazing fellow and we are honored to have you both here.

There's a few of us women here and as we are vastly out numbered please feel free to PM me anytime Hun even if its just for idle chatter :p thanks again and welcome

Sincerely

Ill get her talktalk tonight so she can actually keep up with it and reply a bit easier. I think GH is pretty overwhelming at first haha.

Also, you're nuts for letting Penumbra go for $125! Such a solid move for the community though, especially right after one sold for 3x that one ebay. Thats the kind of thing I like to see  :thumb:

Hi! Sorry I took so long to respond. This website takes some getting used to :) I think keyboards are cool and I like all the neat keycaps but my interest is still slow growing haha! That's cool there are many other things to talk about though. I'll have to make more time to explore.

Thanks for your excitement and I would like to chat too!
