Seriously can't afford it. My keyboard expenses have been questioned at the highest level, and I have recently bought one keyboard, and got one more on the way.

No way I could justify yet another, especially for more than AUD$500.

It's the same price I think. Bought mine for $394 2 weeks ago.

The only thing I want from him now is the blank black FC660C but sadly he said there's no more of it.

They're still manufacturing them for a couple times a year for Leopold afaik. If you bought one recently, you can check the sticker on the plate and it probably says something like (MODELNO) 5 04 28, for manufactured on Apr 28, 2015, because around then was the last time they made them iirc. I know mine bought early in the year has a Nov 2014 sticker on it.

This is very comforting to hear. My budget has been lowered a bit lately, so at the earliest I couldn't get one until December, maybe November. Now it seems I won't have to worry--as much. I'll just get frustrated every time I see someone post theirs!

I'd never have any inclination to change this keycap set, but still, a $200+ price tag for a keycap set and a slightly different colour case is a bit much..

Indeed, but for those "Brian supporters (suckers)" you can still buy the 55gs off him BUT no Red esc or WASD keys will be supplied in your package.

Brian will be selling YOUR keys for extra money, elsewhere on his EK Website

Actually, I don't think the Realforce keyboards come with them anymore. I ordered mine off Massdrop and all it came with was the extra Ctrl/Caps Lock combo and that metal cap puller.

It's probably pretty expensive. It cost me $30 just to ship a 10lb item to California. Granted, the box was twice as big as the Realforce cardboard, but you can imagine how costly it is to ship from where he is, not to mention eBay and PayPal fees. He's not charging that much of a markup.

I think he was referring to the regular realforce boards, not the special edition ones.

If you order a stock realforce 87u off amazon.jp and you get a red esc key and wasd, then I'd be pretty angry...

I have nothing negative to say about EK other than they are deluding themselves if they think that crooked control keys are not a defect. If this is the case they need to take a photo of the keyboard with a crooked key and put it up on their page - since according to them - it's normal.
