Also a little scuffed, no cable and a 0-feeback seller. Looks like original caps, tho.

Selling a >$100 item without a cable is kind of dumb.

Bargain hunters are happy to overlook problems, but if you sell a high-dollar item you should spruce it up if you can.

Wait till the last minute of this auction and watch it hit over $500USD easy  ;) .

In that price range, far better to buy a BRAND new 10th Anniversary Model from RF.

I doubt it will hit $200. Bro recently sold a NIB SSK for $280 and it was taken after 2 days being listed. I expected it to go faster.

Prices have been in a slump for a while now. After that insane spike of about 2 years ago, I think that most people who wanted one now have it.

Selling a >$100 item without a cable is kind of dumb... Bargain hunters are happy to overlook problems, but if you sell a high-dollar item you should spruce it up if you can.

Most people who can appreciate a KB like this have an extra SDL cable around. (I have three Model M's, and just one cable I use for all of them. Unless you're buying KBs to resell them, how many of each kind of cable do you need?) And if an item's sufficiently special like this one, savvy sellers know that such details won't deter most people from bidding.

And not cleaning up a KB often encourages people to bid because it implies a seller who's not up on values, and who may take considerably less than an item's worth. Some sellers may even do that intentionally, for the reverse-psychology effect... IMHO, anyway.

Prices have been in a slump for a while now. After that insane spike of about 2 years ago, I think that most people who wanted one now have it.

I thought she was selling, or had sold, her business?

I think she scaled back and closed her warehouse. She probably wants to keep doing something, just at a much smaller scale.

6000 keyboards is not scaling back

From my perspective, she got a business acquaintance to agree to allow *me* to sort through a couple of tons of nasty old keyboards, in the corner of his dusty warehouse, and have *me* separate what he wants from what we want, remove the discards, give me (x) keyboards for my trouble, and have him ship a box of nice old goodies on to her for distribution.

Compared to operating her own warehouse and distribution, I would say that is scaling back considerably!

That's right, you were the one who got the pleasure of suffering through that

Are you gonna get paid in keyboards?

Is cindy going to sell them on her store, or is she just telling us they exist?

Yes, I am going to be paid in keyboards. Easier than cash for everybody, I presume.

Cindy keeps huge long lists of people's "wants" but I'm sure that if more stuff turns up than is needed to satisfy demand that has already been recorded, she will sell the rest at her usual reasonable prices.

Ah, that makes the situation much clearer.

Thank you :)

I had somehow come to understand that she had acquired all 6000 keyboards :blank:

I had somehow come to understand that she had acquired all 6000 keyboards

These disjointed conversations bouncing between here and DT can get confusing.

A reseller near me has 20 gaylords of "mostly old IBM keyboards" buried in the back of a warehouse and she convinced him to allow her (agent: me) to sort through them.

Update 1 - the guy knows that these are rare and valuable artifacts and will not be giving them away.

Update 2 - Cindy had bad experiences on GH with buyers being immature, picky, and demanding, so she stays away completely.
