I would just buy a poker chip case and customize that instead. You can get a lot of different sized cases for cheaper than that too, and you don't have to wait.

Just saw it posted on reddit as well.

Definitely interested but I'm not going to take this hobby to that level of geekiness. I'll just settle with keyboard sleeves for transportation :D
Please feed my addiction.

Interior dimensions are 42x13x2.7cm.

I need approximately 50x21x5cm.

Not big enough.

A nice idea though.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Pretty cool, but I'd never use it

I only take my keyboard(s) to school and I just got some sleeves for it.

Not going to be lugging this around

Ah, where was this when I was looking for a case for my M?  The price is definitely reasonable for it.

But it's waaay too long and not tall enough for an M.  The ideal ready made case I found was this one by skb:
http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?f=&id=677&o=name&offset=1&c=91&s=76

I had to fly international and was taking my M and couldn't find the skb in time, so I got this one by gator instead:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gator/GK-2110-Keyboard-FX-Multi-Effects-Board-Bag-1274228064066.gc

It's so funny that those are both still called 'keyboard' cases, haha.

If I were going to get a case like that, I would just get a pelican.
I looked at pelicans too, but they didn't have one small enough I think.

I did a lot of research and posted my results in this thread a few years back:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=11147.msg1110702#msg1110702

I still have the gator case (it's actually right beside me), and one M now calls it home ready for action when called upon.  :thumb:

Why would you need to carry around a keyboard with you all the time? Unless you plan to use it with your laptop (I'd rather just use a laptop with a good keyboard, i.e. Lenovo). If you're on this site, you probably have multiple keyboards for use at home, work, etc. Are you really going to be plugging in your own keyboard at the library?

I usually bring back and forth Keyboards to work, I wrap boards in towels and put them in  a back pack. This is way cooler :) but as mentioned before. It's probably cheaper to buy a poker chip case and mod it.

Hmmm do you know one that would go better with my Flame-Print short sleeved sleeved button down? Maybe a case thats black with a red pentagram? All I know is that it needs a pouch for my fingerless gloves.

But seriously, I could see using a hard case for a keyboard if I was traveling around, although I'd pick something that wasn't so, for lack of a better word, "edgy". Would much prefer to modify an old briefcase from a thrift store.

I've done it...with an M too, hahaha.  I did sit away from everyone else though to not disturb them.

Yeah, I could see myself trying to get on a plane with that one...

Airline:  Sir, what's in the case
Me:  It's a keyboard
Airline:  Please go with those gentleman
Me:  But my flight leaves in 15 minutes
Airline:  And without you on it for trying to sneak on a rifle case...

If you really want a super solid case though, the Kalispel gun cases are awesome.  This one would fit an M perfectly, but would cost almost as much as an M Industrial, lol:

I actually have a TKL soft case that was sold by EK a couple of years ago. They no longer sell it, but it is similar to this...

http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,cases&pid=pdkb01sd

I never use it since I have a laptop case. I just put my keyboard in it with my laptop. But even if I did want a dedicated keyboard case, I wouldn't want a hard case. Soft cases are the way to go IMO.

That's a very nice case.  It's basically a twin of the one I use for the M, except smaller.

Why would you only want to go with a soft case?  Wouldn't a well-padded hard-side protect better?

Hard cases bang things up. And soft cases are well padded. If my laptop case is padded enough for my laptop, it can protect a keyboard too. Just my preference.

Is it not tight though?  The specs say it's only 18.4" (EKP120) and the M is longer than that.  I have an old Ozark Trail backpack that I used to use, but I didn't like stuffing it in there randomly with clothes--it's too important to not have its own space.

While I use a 0815 grifiton sleeve I really like the idea of the poker chip case. It might be even possible to mod it so you have a wrist rest as well.
