« on: Fri, 16 October 2015, 06:07:24 »
Around 7 pm I receive my first ever mechanical keyboard WASD CODE can't wait for it to be here.I wanted to make an account here so I can meet a new community of amazing people that r/mechanicalkeyboards has shown me. I look forward to getting into group buys and brocaps can't wait to get my first novelty keycap. I have a feeling this new hobby of mine is going to get pretty expensive pretty fast lol. I shall post later on at r/mechanicalkeyboards and here for pics of my new pride and joy  ;)

Welcome!

The WASD is a great choice. Which switches did you get?

This hobby can become expensive very quickly if you chose to do so. If you haven't yet, I would read more about Wallethack.

I prefer learning about wallet hack first-hand.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Yay CODE!  Although I got one with MX clears.

Which LED has failed?

Your best bet, as this is a new keyboard, might be to investigate an RMA first off - or at least contact where you bought it from and see what they say.

There are those here who can replace an LED for you (depending on where you are, of course), but that would void the warranty, and it might even be a fore-runner of other problems.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
