Hello, I'm new to all of this.

Hi there! My name's Jade, and despite the rest of my handle's implications, I'm actually a very happy person. I'm really fresh to all the mechanical keyboard stuff. Honestly, my current keyboard is just a Razer Blackwidow. I have more questions than I know what to do with, and I'll slowly but surely find me some answers. In the meantime I thought it would be best to try to find a nice community to actually pose these questions to.

I can't wait to really start this hobby. :)

Welcome!

My very first mechanical keyboard was also a Razer Blackwidow, much has changed in just a couple of years...I still hold onto my Razer for sentimental reasons :))

We have our Simple Questions, Simple Answers FAQ to get you started, lots of questions you may have could already be answered! :)

I'll probably never ditch this keyboard. It was the first one I bought myself!

Though, I'll definitely be moving to a 60% soon. Small, efficient things have my fancy. Smart Cars, ITX cases, etc.

Welcome Jade :) Good call with the 60%, that seems to be the natural progression for a lot of users. I just picked one up myself, moving from tenkeyless -> 60%.

Welcome to Geekhack!

There's not necessarily anything wrong with a BlackWidow if it works for you!  Many people have, use and like the BW.  May others, however, try a different keyboard and then switch for life ;)

And as for questions, apart from the simple questions thread linked earlier, there is a meta-info thread here[/uel] that will hopefully link to even more information for you.

If you're looking at getting a 60 definitely consider the Pok3r it has great rep for good reason the v60 is popular as well. The only mx cherry board i have is the Pok3r with clear switches. The layout might take some time to get used to but once you figure out the f layer its great.
