Hello!

Been lurking for a while. I'm a sysadmin working from home typing all day long. Got interested in different keyboard options since I started developing some mean wrist pain using my Apple chiclit boards.

Welcome! And be sure to check out our Ergonomics board and some of the sweet ergo keyboards out there, like the Diverge II, Ergodox, or Matias Ergo Pro.

Thanks, I actually just got a Matias Ergo Pro. Working pretty well other than some layout issues.

Welcome to Geekhack!

There are many mechanical keyboard options to try to alleviate wrist pain.

Including the simple ergonomics of your workspace and, perhaps, the use of a wrist rest.

Others have pointed you at the ergonomics sub-forum, hopefully there will be some information therein to assist.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
