Do I get this right: they get something like a two-piece model M with all the upper caps pulled off and need to reconfigure it to a standard ISO-de model?
IBM Model F XT + Soarer's USB Converter || Cherry G80-3000/Clears

The storage list:
IBM Model F AT || Cherry G80-3000/Blues || Compaq MX11800 (Cherry brown, bizarre layout) || IBM KB-8923 (model M-style RD) || G81-3010 Hxx || BTC 5100C || G81-3000 Sxx || Atari keyboard (?)

Article doesn't say anything about two-piece or Model M. They'll probably have a sponsor for this.

Otherwise, yes. Put the caps back as fast as possible.

I hope the fastest contestant does a non-QWERTY layout, and chaos ensues!

Because they say 'put the keys in their right positions', and everybody worth their keyboard knows that isn't QWERTY!  :D
