Poker 2 Plate removable?
« on: Thu, 05 November 2015, 15:53:32 »
Sup guys.

Sorry for the noob question:

Can the plate of my Poker 2 be removed? I'd rather have it PCB mounted for quick and easy switch modding.

Has anyone experience with this? Does removing the plate ruin the typing experience?

Thanks

I don't think the pcb has the holes for pcb mounted switches or pcb mounter stabilizers.
Imo it's not doable.

You can remove it by desoldering all the switches.
But since the PCB cannot use PCB mounted switches, the keyboard will become weak and the typing feel will not be good.

You can get a custom plate made with cutouts that allow switch modding, but those can be really pricey with all the extra cutting and detail needed.
