Oh, my wrists..!

I just spent the morning with a Cherry G84-4101 that I picked up cheap and OW! Since I've never had wrist pain using my laptops, I have to assume the flat key layout isn't the culprit, which means it must be the smaller than standard keys and key spacing.

Scratch that one...

I think the main problem with these is the way *all* the keys are crammed together, there is no "white space" at all. I would hate to touch type on one and have to rely on that backspace key for example. Just thinking about it is enough to make your hands tense up.
A solution would be to have a ridge between the main keys and that final column on the right, but I imagine many people would hate that too.

Sure, I'll take it; I've been curious about those. I'll PayPal you postage, though...

If you have rather large hands, the ML4100 is a tough 'board to use.  I have little, baby hands, so the spacing doesn't bother me too much.  The switches are a little stiff, and the fatigue gets to me before the layout bothers me.

No way dude.  I'm paying postage.   Even if you don't like it you can be a GOOD DADDY and give it to your little girl.  Get her started on IBMs.

Her hands are too small for these monsters, but my son won't use anything else if he has his druthers. I came home from my last deployment in February to find him hammering away on my (at the time) only Model M keyboard. He basically told me that I could buy another for myself or help myself to one of the crap-ma-boards we had laying around (like his old one).

Of course, now he's got limited mobility in his left hand and none in his right (after suffering a neck fracture in a fall last summer), so he actually asked me to make sure there was a nice, soft rubber dome waiting when he gets home from rehab. I found a Lenovo that I think will fill the bill. Like this, only in gray:
