Heya, I'm new here.
« on: Fri, 13 November 2015, 11:24:18 »
Happy to be posting here. I've learned for a year or so trying to keep an eye on news but I'm long overdue to be an active member.

I purchased a Filco TKL Brown ~4 years ago which I still use and love today. Most days I split my time between a tech startup and Overwatch/Fallout, and I'm always open to game suggestions. I am now exploring options for a work keyboard(Or home...as this would probably trump my Filco), reading excellent things about 62g lubed clear custom boards, Zeal 67s, or 55g Realforce. Anyways, I look forward to being an active member, learning more, and getting slightly obsessed.

Cheers

I think that might be underselling it just a bit.

Welcome to Geekhack!

It's good to hear of mechanical keyboards that are still going strong after a few years.  Most members here have a few keyboards and switch between them, so sustained use of a single keyboard doesn't occur often.

Zelios are very popular, and seem to tick all the boxes.  55g RealForce is the other side of the fence, and also considered an excellent switch.

And one does not become slightly obsessed ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
