« on: Mon, 16 November 2015, 08:42:35 »
What is the profile on this alt key cap?
117360-0
The left is ABS, the middle is Cherry Corp, what is the the right?

Have an excellent day,
Daniel
Peace, love and keyboards.

That's one of those polycarb Portal caps from Signature Plastics. It was made in SP's DCS profile which is close to Cherry but a bit different.

The middle one looks like Cherry's newer profile that they use for the MX-Board models.
When people say "Cherry Profile" they mean the profile used on Cherry's older models. That profile has been copied by several others.

Signature Plastics' DCS profile is almost like "Cherry profile" except for the bottom two rows that are a bit more acutely angled.

ABS is not a type of profile but a type of plastic. It is the most common plastic for all kinds of computer equipment ... but it does not stand up to repeated "abuse" as much as PBT, POM and polycarbonate - which is why the other plastics are in demand by people wanting high-end keyboards.

Thanks for the info, I posted the Cherry Corp cap from my Cherry Board 6.0 2015 model.
I did a typo and meant to write DSA not ABS.
