Realforce 87U picky about USB ports?
« on: Wed, 25 November 2015, 00:48:47 »
Strangely, I've noticed that my desktop will not power my 87U at startup (completely unresponsive keyboard).  This happens maybe half of the time I power up.  Unplugging then plugging it back in gets it to respond again.  I've tried multiple USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0) with the same result.  I haven't noticed this issue with my other keyboards.  Curiously, the 87U seems to work without issue when plugged into my monitors USB hub (it's a 3.0, powered variety).  Ideas?

Edit: I should also note that I'm on a Windows 10 desktop. Perhaps it's an issue with that OS and the 87u controller?

What I've noticed with my 87U is that sometimes, the first time I plug it in, when I type, it doesn't seem to type correctly. I'll type a word and then the last key will drag on. For example, I type hello, it spews out hellooooooo and errors out. Then when I take it out and plug it in again, it'll be fine. But I haven't noticed this problem recently, so hopefully that was fixed.

My Realforce 87U also doesn't get recognized by my motherboard sometimes. It's connected to a usb 2 port on a Asus Maximus VII Hero. Happened on Windows 8 and now Windows 10 but less frequent. Don't know if it's the keyboard, the motherboard, or the os.
