Hey there - I've been lurking for a while now and thought it was about time I registered.

I'm two mech's in and I fear more to come. I've had a K70 for a couple of years and have recently acquired a Pok3r whilst the K70 is in the middle of an LED transplant.

The Pok3r would be a bit of a change from the K70 - what made you jump from full size down to 60%?  And which do you prefer?

Hi rowdy, and cheers!

Mostly went for the Pok3r for the space, a little for the looks (standard bottom row is a bonus) and a (relatively) cheap way to try some new switches. I seldom use the number pad on the K70, unless I'm hitting enter with my mouse hand, so don't really miss it, and for the occasion where I need arrow keys, the toggle for shift, fn, pn, ctrl as arrow keys works nicely. My K70 has browns and I went for reds in the Pok3r to give a linear switch a go and I really like both.

The DIP switches for Dvorak and Colemak were also appealing - toying with both at the moment, but not yet chosen a direction. Typing speed is a little frustrating at present however...

As for my favourite - probably the Pok3r for now, but that is probably because it is a change from the norm - I'll probably find myself switching between them as the mood takes me. What is your board(s) of choice day to day? Do you find yourself switching between them a lot?

Switching between qwerty, Dvorak and Colemak is ... courageous.  I sometimes have enough trouble just typing on qwerty :))

And you have rationalised it very well, thanks!

The one thing I missed the most moving from full size to (mostly) TKL is the Enter key on the numpad.  It was convenient to hit it with my thumb without taking my right hand off the mouse.

My two favourites are HHKB (using that to type this), and SSK.  But I have problems using the HHKB at work 'cause the editors and IDEs we use rely too heavily on function keys (under Windows too), and the aforementioned problems with the SSK at work.

I tend to alternate mostly between those two at home - HHKB during the week so I can type early in the morning and late at night without waking anyone, and SSK on weekends.
