Leopold FC750R
« on: Tue, 08 December 2015, 04:01:43 »
so i ordered one from widebasket last week, should be shipped by now. i have not used any cherry stabbed board before, all i used were Filcos and QFRs.

can any current owner confirm that the FC750R would fit GMK sets and the like? i am aware that leopold put non standard stem spacing ontheir spacebars up until the 750R, but the 750R should be ok?

thanks

The old version of FC750R (the one with a right windows key) have non standard stem pacing on the spacebar, but the current one (right fn key) have standartd stem spacing on the spacebar, so I think it shoud be fine.

well, the picture on the ebay listing shows Fn on the right side, but some of the pics in the description still show winkey on the right side. guess i'll see when it arrives, but i think it should be ok.

I got mine from Widebasket and can confirm the stabs are normal, the 750R(earliest version of 750) had the Leopold non standard stabs, the 750RT(the newer version like Widebasket sells) has the standard spacing. GMK, IMSTO Vortex & Gateron all work on it just fine.

my new leopold just arrived and i am pleased to say it indeed has standard spacebar stem spacing. also, the build quality is even better than filco (well, maybe that is just the first glance, or the sound absorption pad is doing the magic coupled with the super thick PBT caps on it. the stabilized keys feel a bit mushy, but i've pretty much never used a cherry stabbed board before, so i may have to get used it them.

we'll see when i put on the GMK goodness :)

Been waiting for widebasket to get some more white ones with Blues back in stock, or for mechanicalkeyboards.com to get some in.

yeah i may get one more of them, for work. coming from filcos with reds and browns with horrible ping issues, this is a pure you to type on and the cherry stabs don't feel half as bad as i thought they would. the stock caps are awesome, but they're side printed (the only version that was available with browns at the time of purchase), so i put my GMK orange on charcoal on and maaaaaaaan this is just a joy to type on, without the costar wires grinding on shifts and enter LOL

must say i'm pretty excited to get the G20s i have in the mail from SP.

i think i'll type a short review up tomorrow and throw in some photos too.....mmmmm
