trackball with detentes?
« on: Thu, 19 November 2009, 15:18:29 »
does anyone make a small trackball that has detentes, like on many scrollwheels?

i was thinking it might be useful for text cursor control, instead of arrow keys :)

I don't know why I read the title as "trackball with diabetes." I guess that wouldn't be all that sweet.

Don't laugh at that. If you do, you're just being saccharin.

You could try to find pitching machine balls if you have a larger trackball.  They look like big golf balls.  If you have a smaller trackball, you may want to just see if a golf ball would fit.

I wonder if Wilford has ever smiled.  Even the Quaker on the Quaker Oats container smiles.

come to think of it, doesn't the mighty mouse have detentes?

i'm still leaning toward dual scroll wheels though :)

A Logitech mouse with a tilt-wheel might be right up your alley.  I don't know which model has one these days.  My old MX1000 has one.

Um, no, it just has a free-rolling scroll ball.
