Hey guys,

Just wondering if there are any of you out there with one of these as i was after some info on them. as far as i'm aware there were only 4 of these made as UK Samples and the White/White Shine 2 never fully ran from production which makes them very rare.  The reason I ask is I managed to grab one off a friend who managed to snap up a couple of the samples for his shop at the time they were going to release them. These were fully boxed retail examples. It has Brown Cherry MX Switches.

I just got myself a Shine 5 and was thinking i may get rid of my shine 2 but was after some more info on them in White/White before i make my mind up.

Thanks Guys

Gordy! :-)

There were THREE white/white Shine keyboards that were made, not 4 samples.

1) Ducky Shine Year of the Rabbit (no idea if that was a shine 1 or shine 2), and there were FAR more than four of those made!
2) Ducky shine 4 white edition
3) Ducky Year of the Goat RGB edition (shine 5 hardware in a Ducky One white case with white caps).

You can get the YOTG white keycap set here

Maybe your specific sample was rare if only 4 were made, but you were asking about white Ducky keyboards with white caps.   Or so I thought.....

Why don't you just put the white keycaps on the Shine 5 and see the results?

Have you even tried swapping the keycaps yet?
The keyboard isn't going to break if you swap the caps.
Try the RGB backlighting with the white keycaps then report back.  Pretty sure you will be impressed with the results.
And btw keyboards like that shine 2 don't go up in value unless they're using switches or a quality that you can't find anymore (example: Brand new IBM Model F's), so there's no reason to keep it as is unless you're a collector.  YOLO !

The only white Ducky Shine 2 I seen is a (I have one) Ducky Shine 2 ISO/Nordic white/white LEDs, Cherry MX Brown and pink keycaps.

yes , i know they did them in white/pink and black/black hence the reason i'm thinking this is rare as i got it from my friend who owns Kustom Pc's as i think he managed to get 2 of the 4 that were available in white/white . They came boxed as per a normal shine 2 :-)

Take some pictures after you swap the keycaps!!
We want color porn with white keycaps!

Are you talking about this keyboard?

Picture from Seville57's Year of the Goat.

You can still find a few of them new, if you're willing to pay some big money for them!

You may want to go through the taobao agent taobaoring.com if you're willing to pay that much cash for it.
The exact keycaps used on the Year of the Goat are only available in Taiwan: perhaps they can be purchased by a Japanese agent or you can ask if Taobaoring will allow purchase from a non taobao site for extra fee:

About the white keycaps on the YOTG board, I don't like the Win caps with the Win logo, Ducky should had used their Ducky logo on this 2 caps.

$349 for the board on playtech, I paid this when I pre-order mine last year: https://www.google.se/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiimJeEg7HKAhXlp3IKHTkvDskQFggiMAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmechanicalkeyboards.com%2Fshop%2Findex.php%3Fl%3Dproduct_detail%26p%3D1355&usg=AFQjCNFn0eDLNgeg_JNJS8hv4ENDmKtZRw
