What's the difference on the opened R1 R2 pic? Seems like I'm too noob to see the difference :p

Any significant difference that I'm suppose to be looking at?
Wasn't in the R1 gb.  :-X

The only thing I can see is the difference in thickness of the housing. My baby eyes may be deceiving me, though.
I circled where I'm seeing it.

No...that's just a misalignment of the switch bottoms.

I see that you're sold out on the GH V3 Thick Lube.

Will you have it back in stock before the Zealios ship out?

Working on getting another batch in, but unlikely they'd arrive in time.

Is it the same formula as the ones in techkeys?

Roughly the same. The formula is always being tweaked by Geekhackers.

I'm just making sure I get what lube you recommended (the one on zealpc of course but the thick and spring are sold out). Cause this should be my end game MX type switch.

What's the difference on the opened R1 R2 pic? Seems like I'm too noob to see the difference :p

would like to know what lube to get as well :P

Working on getting a thick lube formula with Geekhackers. Will update in here when I get my first batch in. It can be used as spring and thick switch lube.

I was just able to order some of the V3 thick lube.

Maybe someone else cancelled their order?

EDIT: I can see now that you changed it to "pre-order".

i have a bit of a noob question... but if i want my zeal switches (67g with 78g space/backspace/return) to have the ultimate "ca-thump" feel, should I be picking up the foam pad stickers on massdrop? I already have some rubber 50A o-rings waiting to go with them as well. For what its worth, i'm building a Sentraq S60-X

Those GMK QMX clips only work on PCB mounted keyboards. So any keyboard with a plate will not be compatible with the QMX Clips. I am developing something similar that can support plate mounted keyboards though. Stay tuned.  :thumb:
This makes me want to trampoline mod the zealio/Aristotle combo switches that I'll be doing, so that I can get a silenced bottom out and a silenced upstroke so that all I'll hear is the wonderful click! Oooooo that would be exciting!!!

I am also looking to place a last minute pre-order today!  BUT I have a question...

As far as LEDs, I know these were "opened up" for RGB, but having never built an LED keyboard, do Zealios accept standard 3mm LEDs also?  Might be a dumb question, but I couldn't find any reference to LEDs.

Yes, they accept 3mm, 2x3x4mm, 1.8mm, and future 4 pin RGB LEDs.

I feel a growing trend of people not bothering to read all the information provided...

From Zeal's website where you place your order:
"Orders will "soft close" on March 1, 2016 23:59:59 PST.  After this time, the order will be placed with the manufacturer. Pre-order pricing will remain until the product is fully received. Production time + shipping will take roughly 2 weeks. Reshipping bulk order from Zeal PC to you will take roughly 3 weeks. Orders are shipped based on a first-come-first-serve basis. "

I don't believe waterclear 4 pin RGB LEDs have been used in RGB keyboards yet... Just got this sample freshly produced :)

Anyone interested in developing a 4 pin RGB LED PCB? :P

I'll be stocking a few thousand of these 4pin RGB LEDs soon.

Thanks for the extension Zeal. I just ordered 60 78g purple Zealios switches. I believe these will be going in my Golbat40 when it finally arrives. Til then, I'm looking forward to your 67g purple zealios with my incoming White Fox keyboard.

I've made a SMD 0606 RGB LED PCB - I think making alterations to support 4 pin LEDs might not be too much of a stretch.  That said, it's a very busy PCB since I have it controlled by WS2811 ICs instead of some other controller.  In fact, I'm waiting for this R2 purchase in order to complete my  little 40% board.  They draw a lot of power, that's the one thing I've noticed so far.

Do you have some footprint info for that LED?  I'll see what I can work out.

One more question. Is there a good guide anywhere on how to lube a Zealio switch? Is it significantly different from lubing an MX? (I've never done either) Also, what's the most recommended lube to use on Zealios?

My understanding is that Zealios switches come lightly lubed right from the factory but that with how smooth they are it's not really needed.  If you decided to lube them though, I don't see why they would be any different than a standard Cherry switch.

Oh I see. I do remember seeing Zeal mention that it's highly recommended to lube them just to get the best out of the switches. But okay, thanks. I'll take a look at them once they're in. Which lube is generally recommended (silicone / oil / grease / thick vs thin)?

Based on Zeal advice and GH Lube description on zealpc the thick lube is suitable for purple zealios and other tactile switch like brown and clear while the thin lube is for clear zealios and other linear switch like red and black. GH Lube is Krytox mix btw.

I myself ended up pre-ordered GH thick lube from zealpc as I order 65g purple zealios.

Perfect, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Now to check if Zeal will allow me to add the lube to an existing order of switches and have them shipped together. :)

Sure. Here's the spec sheet: LED must be facing up when designing the PCB (meaning switch logo is upside down).

You should have received an email confirmation of your order as well. The PayPal transaction should also have the details. Regardless, please PM me your transaction # and I'll let you know your order.

Do you have some footprint info for that LED?  I'll see what I can work out.

Sure. Here's the spec sheet: LED must be facing up when designing the PCB (meaning switch logo is upside down).

Thanks Zeal.  Overlapping/optional switch positions are... more complicated with this.  Not sure that some of them are actually possible except by jumpers or something.  I'll make a test board with this.   Is it possible for me to buy some of these LEDs to add onto my R2 order so I can test?

Please PM me your order #. I'll include a few for free. :)

Forgot to mention. The RGB LEDs are common anode.

Order has been placed, and the buy is still "open" til I receive the switches mid March.

HYPE!

The 65g milky bottom is like this current SMD LED Gateron on MD?

Or like the old Gateron?

Hey guys. What spring do you recommend for me here? I have found that Pok3r MX Clears are too soft for me and KUL ES-87 were about ideal. The KUL's are thicker looking, more robust springs. What 24k spring do you suggest for mine? 100g?

Hey Zeal I ordered the 78g switches.
They support leds right?
If so can I order the orange ones from you? (will they fit?)
And what else should I order for building my first KB :)

It'll be like the "old" Gateron translucent base.

If both Poker and KUL used MX Clears, then they should've both felt the same. 100g springs are similar to MX Clears in weight (they bottom out at 100cN/~100g), so if you wanted something a bit heavier, 120g would be the go to spring.

Yes, my switches support all the common LED variants. 3mm, 2x3x4mm, 1.8mm, 4 pin RGB.

I offer 1.8mm orange LEDs through my shop. PM me your order # if you'd like to add some to your order.
