Northgate Omnikey-101
« on: Tue, 26 January 2016, 18:42:28 »
Appears to be in excellent condition. I wonder if it has blue alps.

That is not a gold label, it is a yellowed conventional label. This is the best Northgate layout, but it will be complicated white Alps.
"Starting in 2011, the deficits again started to shrink. During Obama’s term  the deficit was reduced by $900 Billion  before finally in 2015 the GOP managed to wrangle a “reconciliation” bill out of Obama where he again cut corporate taxes, as well as made permanent some of George W. Bush’s original tax cuts. This is the year everything reversed. Before this, under Clinton, Bush and Obama the deficit in almost every year was gradually decreasing. The balance we had of taxes and the economy was bringing the deficit down, the money coming in was slowly catching up with the money going out until 2015. Trump’s subsequent tax cut has continued the new trend even after the rest of Bush’s cuts have since expired. Obama had an average GDP of 2.3%, with 11.6 million jobs created and unemployment peaking at 10% in 2009, then falling to 4.3% in 2016. If we had continued on that downward deficit track, we would have again reached balance and another surplus in 2017-2018.

A Gold label should look something like this.

Ah ok. 101 is usually white?

Although I saw a thread with a Blues on them.

If someone bought this under the notion that it had blue Alps. I'm sorry for them. On the flip side, you got an ANSI Omnikey, which is not the most common thing.

However, not the most uncommon either. I've seen at least four of these pass through eBay in the past month or so. One for only $30 or so in  good condition, so this price is jacked.

As are most Alps prices right now.

Indeed, there are two 101-key ANSI Omnikeys on auction right now.

One currently at $36.50 shipped, ending in a week, http://www.ebay.com/itm/201511123227
One currently at $35 + shipping, ending in 4.5 days, http://www.ebay.com/itm/252267084715

I started looking for blue Alps 4 years ago, and it took me over a year and a half to find an old Leading Edge. Half a year after that, they started turning up somewhat more often, still at high prices, and over the next year or so there were marginally more for sale (still "uncommon" but perhaps not quite as "rare") and prices even came down a bit.

During the past year, prices have stayed high but quite a few people have (1) hunted down, or (2) stumbled onto them at reasonable prices.
Be patient and keep your eyes open.

The Leading Edge you speak of is the DC-2014, yeah? That one's a typical source for blues.

Sometimes those 1) and 2) conditions crross over. I've certainly had the fortune of both, myself, but I've mainly hunted down the boards I have. Don't wait for them on eBay, guys. Scour the lands of the world wide web for your booty.

FrogTheJam19, it was thoughtful of you to go to the trouble to tell us about this, so thanks for that. Now that we've clarified this, would you mind editing your Subject so it doesn't say "gold label"? It's good to keep the references on here accurate.
