OK perhaps I am being somewhat hyperbolic here :)), buut I think I might be in the camp that thinks that they are a biiiiit overhyped.  I admit a part of it is due to the lackluster experience I've had with my SKCM Blue board.

That's true, but my SKCM Blues feel just fine to me, it's the sound that I'm not sure I care for.  It's pretty refined sure, but kinda anemic compared to buckling springs, IMO.

Anything sounds anemic compared to buckling springs. I personally prefer the more controlled sounding Alps in general.
