Gotta love people willing to save $6 over a new one....
« on: Fri, 27 November 2009, 22:14:22 »
Buyers on eBay never cease to amaze and stun me with their stupidity.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250534254599&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

So who's going to message the lucky winner and break the news?

Those sound like XMs in the video, and the board comes with a red FILCO and Esc key just like the B-stock with XMs. I hope someone didn't just pay $78 for a board I sell for $50...

I find it funny that people are willing to save a couple of bucks. Normal computer users will just get a keyboard for $10 from like newegg or something. But for the people that knows the brand Filco, HHKB, Topre, etc..., I would expect them to know where to buy them as well.

Here is the second last picture from the auction:

It says XM right on the box. Comments?

I just checked elitekeyboards for the "blem" that is sold for $50 and the model number for that one is FKBN87Z/EB-Y. If it is the "blem" is is actually labeled on the box with the extra Y in the end of the model number?

Diatec is still using the boxes that say XM on them for all Zeros. However, the box with the XM B-Stock boards comes with a sticker/label on it that says EB-Y, but this can easily be pealed off.

I've always found the word "tenkeyless" kind of irritating. It makes no sense. From my experience, number pads tend to come with 17 keys.

I felt the same when I first saw it, but it has now seeped into my vocabulary. I think the word is here to stay.

Tenkeyless does unfortunately sound a bit like Tenko-less.
"Tenko" was a TV series about women prisoners in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in WWII. Tenko means roll-call, apparently.

it's been called 'ten key' forever... Like when you were in school, you learned "ten key", not "seventeen key"...
