Help - iKBC G87 Firmware mod
« on: Tue, 09 February 2016, 09:52:31 »
I recently bought this keyboard, and I really love it, except I wish it has NKRO as the default mode.  I did a small review in case anybody is interested. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79462.0  It has a function key combination to toggle 6KRO/NKRO with an LED indicator, but every time I unplug the keyboard or turn off the computer it defaults to 6KRO, when I would like for it to have NKRO as a default mode, with the LED indicator off.  If anybody knows how to edit the firmware, or if iKBC can step in and help, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Also the keyboard is advertised being ready for an LED mod, but there doesn't seem to be any firmware functionality to control the backlighting.  It appears that somebody has done it, as can be seen on this youtube video:
It would be great if somebody who knows how to do this shares with the community.  Thank you

If anybody knows a way to contact iKBC support besides their phone number listed on their website (that nobody picks up), please post it here.  Thanks

I was able to contact iKBC and they were nice enough to make a correction to the firmware and provide the stock firmware, both of which I uploaded to my review of the keyboard.  https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79462
