Pok3r RGB Backlit
« on: Sat, 13 February 2016, 16:47:07 »
I'm not sure if this has been posted around here but it looks like there's a release date on the upcoming Pok3r with full RGB backlighting.

I've been waiting for this for a while actually since I love 60%-75% for gaming (maximum mouse space) but find full RGB can be nice for gaming as well (especially when using blank keycaps!).

MechanicalKeyboards shows April 28, 2016 as the estimated release date. They also show one with a "natural white cherry" switch option, as well as MX Black and MX Brown.

Noticed it yesterday - will likely be picking up the Cherry Nature White version. There's been some discussion on that switch type elsewhere on the forums as it's an option with the Ducky Shine 5, but it's essentially a middle-ground of sorts between mx red and mx black, though much closer to black. 55cN actuation, 75cn bottom out.

That is interesting. I'm not sure that I'd get new Cherry MX linear anymore though since they sound so gritty compared with vintage MX or Gaterons.

you can make your own ghetto Poker RGB, which is what I did for fun. I've messed with several models of Poker and KBT, and it seems they all have active led pads practically begging to be soldered. You only need to know the correct key combo for turning on the leds.

One of these days I will upload my video.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

It's noted in the docs http://www.vortexgear.tw/db/upload/webdata4/vortex_20151228744687740.pdf

I've been waiting for the Pok3r RGB since they teased it on their Facebook page. Nice to see it almost here.

Pretty neato, but within the last few months I've found I prefer RGB ubderlighting with a nice diffuser.

But who knows; if I have the funds I may get one.

Will this fit in an aluminum case designed for the poker 2?  I have a hammer case I'd like to put it into.
