I am very recent new owner of a WASD CODE keyboard in ANSI 104 key layout with Cherry MX Clears.
I've been eyeing out the CODE for 2 years now and finally took the plunge in December on massdrop.com. Been using scissor switch boards for many years.

It's been near 20 years since I used a proper mechanical keyboard. Miss those SGI Alps switch boards and the buckling spring units on my old university's IBM serial terminals.

Nice to be back to something that feels nice and solid to type on. Just a few tweaks to the keycaps is needed and then I'll be happy and comfortable... Or is that how this expensive habit always starts?

I also have a CODE with MX clears!  I was eyeing clears for a long time, and I liked the clean lines of the CODE when it was announced, so when I needed a quite and relatively subdued keyboard for work I jomped on a Massdrop drop.

Does your ping much?  Earlier CODES, especially with clears, ping a LOT.  Mine does ping slightly, but I only hear it if I am concentrating, and even then it just sounds like wind chimes in the distance.

Why not get another Model M?  They are still around and mostly going strong.

Yeah, mine pings, but it doesn't bother me. It's just the arrow keys that ping, the rest seems fine.
I have a o-ring under the backspace key and the left shift key. They bottomed very easily and felt very loose compared to the rest of the board.

Technically this is a "2nd" CODE. The first was purchased through Amazon, but they wound up sending me a MX Green instead of the Clear.
That was returned, but I did get to play with it a bit. Was a bit noisy for home use and kind of felt too light for my tastes. Or it might just me looking for faults because I really wanted the clears I ordered.

My office and household aren't quite ready for a Model M. I'd be silenced just a soon as I started typing. Real world is so different from the university labs. No one cared about the noise back then.

At some point I'm hoping to find a SGI AT-101W granite board to go with a old O2 I bought years ago, but there's no rush as the thing is sitting in my sister's storage unit over in the USA. It isn't exactly a "lightweight" when it comes to shipping. Good old days of machines being made out of proper steel.

Greens do seem lighter than clears.  MX clears are about the only switch I don't bottom out on all the time.  Just most of the time.  Greens, blacks, buckling spring - I bottom out all the time
