How are the stabilizers on KUL ES-87?
« on: Sat, 20 February 2016, 19:14:00 »
Currently thinking of picking up a KUL ES-87, but this review:http://www.amazon.com/review/R3PLCQUR3VNIQZ/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00KI23T8U&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=541966&store=pc is saying that the stabilizers aren't all that great, even compared to other keyboards with the same stabilizers (Leopold, Vortex).

I'm assuming all three brands she mentioned (KUL, Leopold, Vortex) are using Cherry stabilizers, which I honestly don't have a problem with (currently using Ducky Shine 5 with Cherry stabilizers). But apparently she's observing the installation on the KUL might be different, therefore giving a different feel than other boards with the same stabilizers.

Any experiences/opinions on this? It would be greatly appreciated... thanks.

If you're handy, just desolder the switches that have stabilizers, remove them, clip them and lube them, reinstall and resolder. Then the board will be perfect.

I've found the Cherry stabilizers on my KUL ES-87 to be good.

I clipped them of course because I dislike the mushy feeling they make stock, and lubricated them while I was at it.

My spacebar isn't so bad but there is definitely a bit of mush on my enter and shift keys.  Doesn't really bother me to much but if it does i'll do the mod.  Still, I prefer these cherry stabilizers more than the costar of my old board.
