Seller has a couple of other GMK sets.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

So, I'm just curious: Are those really that much better than something like these or these, where you get a whole DS 104 set for less than 2x the price? Maybe this is a special collector thing...?

It's GMK. Yes, it's the best ABS other than that other brand.

GMK ABS Keycaps cannot be compared to other cheap ABS. They are thicker, has better coating, which means more durable to shine and yellowing (if at all), and smooth yet a little bit textured, unlike PBT caps which is a little bit rougher IMO.
I like mechanical keyboards

Seller has 6 feedbacks - does that bother anyone?

All positive though.

Haha depends on how expensive it is. How much is it usually? (US - AU)

In a padded bubble mailer USPS first class international ~$5 IF you ship through PayPal.

For a keycap I'd use some thin cardboard and packing peanuts as reinforcement the weight should only be ~3oz at most.

I already have labels and packing supplies so I didn't include the cost of those sorts of things.

USPS.com will charge you just over $13 for the same thing.

So, I'm just curious: Are those really that much better than something like these or these, where you get a whole DS 104 set for less than 2x the price? Maybe this is a special collector thing...?

GMK ABS Keycaps cannot be compared to other cheap ABS. They are thicker, has better coating, which means more durable to shine and yellowing (if at all), and smooth yet a little bit textured, unlike PBT caps which is a little bit rougher IMO.
Yep gmk is the best if you want something that is available now. But nothing can beat OG caps. And yeah only cheap pbt is rough iirc the OG pbt and enjoypbt caps are smooth

More caps this time, like the White-on-Red I'm hunting for a colleague... too bad I missed it :(

I believe that is beige, (U9) on red, (V1). If you are looking for white on red here are a couple sellers;

Well, would probably work as well, but good catch.

And I know. $15 shipping for a $3 cap is a little to steep for me though =)

Btw seller is legit, got my caps about a week after ordering from Germany to Canada.

I wonder how they are getting so many weird combinations of colours that haven't appeared in the wild in any observable quantities.

LIke did someone get GMK to make up a bunch of Esc in all colour combinations and are not gradually filtering them out to the world?

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

My guess is that this is the closest we'll see to GMK grab bags. I.e. the seller buys leftover caps from GMK and sells them in packs he puts together.
