Greetings from NJ
« on: Sun, 27 March 2016, 00:05:01 »
Been here for some time now.  I just wanted to introduce myself out there.
I am currently using Ducky Shine 5 and wishing one day to grab some artisan keycaps from well-known makers. :] I still didn't win any raffles though. :[
Anywho,  :thumb: to the geekhack community for feeding my keyboard/keycap hunger.  Keep posting guys.  Thank you!

Hi! Welcome. What kind of switches does your Ducky Shine 5 have? Which artisan keycaps have you stalked so far?

I like the Brobot V2  That one is going to be tough to find!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Don't worry about feeding your hunger - just pick your favourite thread in the media section, and drool away ;)

As for acquiring artisans, have patience.  Some sales require a minimum period of membership.  You have joined, so it's just a case of participating in discussions until the time has passed.

In some sales you might get lucky first try.  Or you might enter a few sales without winning anything.  This happens a lot, and is nothing to be discouraged about.  There are so many artisan keycaps out there that it is impossible to own them all!  Just have patience, save your money, and you'll be ready when you do get lucky!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Haha.  Thank you for the insight.  I will keep that in mind.  There are too many to follow that I cannot even keep up.

I was hunting KeyKollective's keycaps though still didn't have any luck winning at all but I'll keep trying.

For the Ducky Shine 5, I have cherry mx blues with clear o-rings.

Very welcoming! Thank you!  I already have trouble disciplining myself to just use the forum for no more than 10 minutes.  :thumb:
