Type-S won't be recognized once replugged back in

When I unplug my Type-S while the PC is on and plug it back in, it won't be recognized. Plugging in a different Keyboard (standard HHKB, for example) is no problem. It's just the Type-S. I always have to restart. Happens in Windows as well as in OS X. What's wrong with it?

Do you have the OS X drivers installed?

Right now I'm on Windows, I'll check later. I was just wondering because the standard HHKB works just fine.
