There's a lot more plastic in the space bar - pretty much every keyboard I've used the space bar sounds different.

If it's really noticable, can you make a video or sound recording of it?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, the space bar is the one that sounds most different, expect on my linear boards, for some reason. It used to annoy the frick out of me, but I've gotten used to it.

Lubricate the wire stabilizer where it touches the inserts in the keycap as well as the brackets on the plate. Makes a pretty huge difference in the amount of rattle, especially when paired with lubing the ends of the spring inside the switch.

^ pretty much this.

My Filco spacebar was rattling as well, greased the stabilizers a little bit and now it is a joy to press (and listen to).
