Hello everyone
« on: Thu, 07 April 2016, 08:13:21 »
Hello to everyone. I would like to introduce myself. Last year I caught the poison of the fascinating and addictive world of mechanical keyboards. Started with the Razer Blackwidow and now my stable consists of 5 keyboards (3 of them are Ducky as I got a good deal on them). It seems I'm a fan of MX Blues as the sound is so satisfying. Now I have bought a couple of keycap sets (Vortex PBT) and my wallet it starting to take a hit. Hopefully, I would like to venture into Topre and currently saving up for a Realforce and a HHKB. I might want to learn to solder because custom boards are cool as heck.

Boards that i have are:

Razer Blackwidow Green Switch

Ducky Shine 4 MX Blue

Ducky Zero 2108 MX Blue

Ducky One MX Brown

Armaggeddon MKA-3 MX Brown (got this super cheap)
Realforce 104UB-DK30S Taiwan Edition (30g) | CM Storm Novatouch TKL | Ducky Shine 5 (MX RGB Blue) | Ducky Shine 4 69 Fire Edition |  Ducky Shine 4 (MX Blue) | Ducky Shine 3 (MX Brown) | Filco Majestouch 2 (MX Blue) | Leopold FC900R (MX Brown) | KBParadise V60 (MX Green) | Ducky One 1508 Dyesub PBT (MX Brown) | Ducky One 1508S (MX Brown) | Ducky One 1508F (MX Red) | Ducky Zero DK2108 (MX Blue) | Armaggeddon Black Hornet MKA-3 (MX Brown)

Pending: Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja (MX Brown) | Anne Pro (Gateron Blue) | Anne Pro (Gateron Brown)

Welcome to Geekhack!

I nearly started with a Razor, and I do now have three Duckys too!

If you're going for RealForce and HHKB, unless you have a good reason to get otherwise consider getting a 55g RealForce for contrast with the HHKB.  OTOH if you really do prefer lighter switches, consider the 45g RealForce, but general consensus is that 55g is the perfect Topre weight.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
