Im on the bus
« on: Mon, 18 April 2016, 09:05:13 »
I'm on the bus and I only have enough wifi to load geekhack. What are fun bus games I can play?

Start a round of "wheels on the bus" and see how many people join in.

Odd to say you are "on the bus" - makes it sound like you are riding on the roof!

More precisely you are "in a bus".
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

If you're on Greyhound, my first game suggestion is "Set up a VPN"...

They alter HTTP traffic to inject ads >:D

Thumb drift is a good and mindless game to play.

If you're looking for more non technology focused games, I'm gonna let you in on a little thing my friend and I play, I haven't heard of it before, and neither has anyone else who I've told about it. From my friend and I, it's been able to spread to around 20 people I know now, so this shows how addicting this game can be.

The license plate game.

Not states, oh no, this game will take years. In California, license plate formats are 1AAA000 (for most cars). So the game- collect all of the last three digits, IN ORDER. So start with 000. Then 001. Then 002, all the way, until you have 1000 pictures of plates, from 000-999, taking pictures of each in chronological order. It's all I think about on road trips (unless I'm driving) and sometimes my friends and I will literally go to parking lots looking for the plates we need. For reference, I've been playing for about 6 months, I'm on 033. even if your state has some format like 000AAA or some other format, there should be some sort of way to get three numbers in a row.

So if you need a picture of 002, but you see a 004, you can't take a picture. You need 003 first. You can imagine the torture and addiction that could come from this.

Once again, I haven't ever heard of this game, but chances are my friends and I aren't the ones who came up with it.

What you do is ask someone for directions and while they are talking just reach out and touch the tip of their nose and go "boop"

Then just stand there like nothing happened. If they confront you about it deny deny deny.

DON'T QUESTION THE AMERICAN WAY

I wasn't, I was just observing that it was an unusual phrase.

If you people want to ride on top of your busses, I guess that's up to you.

High bridges, eh?

We have low bridges over here, like this one: http://howmanydayssincemontaguestreetbridgehasbeenhit.com/

Train-surfing is illegal in Victoria.
