Opening up Model M, what tool?
« on: Fri, 18 December 2009, 23:34:15 »
Sorry, I'm sure this is been posted before, but I'm trying to get a quick answer, so I can run to Home Depot before they close for the night.

The Model M case is held together by some hexagon-screws, what size are these? and what driver/tool do I need to unscrew these?

Thanks!

Yes, I suppose I could just bring the keyboard with me and try them there... but I'm trying to look less of a dork than I already am!!

ahh epic fail. Home Depot had nothing, the nice lady declares "you should go to a computer store for this!"

I'm back, but now I know what's needed:

You need to get a socket set. They sell them at Sears Robuck.
