Maximum resistance on a line for a membrane?
« on: Thu, 09 June 2016, 19:07:02 »
So, I finally got my Dell Quiet Key connected and... one key works! The good old num lock! Looking at the membranes, it's completely frazzled and will pretty much need filling in at a lot of places on both sheets :(

What's the maximum resistance I shuold be allowing for on a whole line? I've just traced the column of the next key which is on the same row as the num lock to find a resistance of 127ohms from the point to the control connector. As this membrance is so shot, I don't have a reference point!

Is it worth it to repair a quietkey? You can find them at thrift stores all the time for <10$

England doesn't have thrift stores, and charity stores in UK are now charging ebay prices because they think it's big and clever and don't usually carry computer stuff.
