Hi everyone
« on: Sun, 12 June 2016, 08:17:00 »
Hi, please excuse my late introduction, I was only reading topics until now. Im from germany, that to explain my not so perfect english  ^-^. Im 20 years old, hobby photographer and techblogger (in german, unsuprisingly). At the moment I own two mechanical keyboards, a Corsair K70 with Reds at home, and a Qpad MK-50 with blues for the office :D Both keyboards with stock keycaps, but I want to change that in the future and maybe get a little collection started.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Are these DE ISO layout?  If so, it might be a little more difficult to find replacement keycap sets, although the situation is improving all the time.

Most sets support ANSI - as more ISO layouts are becoming popular more and more sets are including specific ISO keycaps.

If you see a set you like, make sure you get in early and vote for DE ISO (if that is your preferred layout).

There are more Germans round here than you probably think ;)

In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yep, both are DE ISO. I considerded to switch to US ANSI a few times, but that would mean to get two new keyboards. Even though i would like to, at the moment thats not possible with my budget  :'(

That's a shame :(  Plus if you do convert to US ANSI, you might become accustomed to it and find it difficult to use other keyboards in your home or work place.

That would be my biggest problem, I'm working in the IT of my company. Every of my customers uses only ISO of course. I think that could get funny. At my personal workspace I use my MK-50, that would be easy to change.

Yes - switching between the layouts would make it more difficult to learn the ANSI layout, and embarrassing when you have to use a colleague's ISO keyboard.

By the way, that is the first time I've seen a non-English Tapatalk signature!  Did you know you can disable that signature "Gesendet von meinem D6603 mit Tapatalk" in Tapatalk settings?
