I browse the site fairly often, but literally about half the time I get a "connection times out error."  It's not just at a specific time when they may be doing site maintenance, but anytime.  Is this just my computer or is this a real occurrence?  It's probably the best place to shop here in the US, unless anybody else can suggest something?  Do these error messages happen to you?

EDIT:
Okay, this is really weird.  If I activate a VPN, the site immediately works.  If I shut it off and attempt to reconnect I get the same error  message.  I'm sure there are lots of people on here who are smarter than me. What's going on?

It works fine here, might be some network issue you're having.

I have experienced the same thing with the MK site. I emailed them from a working connection to inquire. After they did quite a lot of troubleshooting, it turned out that their server was blocking my IP address because there were too many connection attempts, which their settings interpreted as a cyber attack. After some time, they allowed connections from my IP address again.

This is interesting.  I browse the site once a week or something.  I don't recall ever trying to connect many times or having lots of browser windows open or something.  Calling them to unblock me is too much hassle, so I will just use the VPN if I have to.

Really doubt that they're blocking you.

This sounds like it could be a DNS or routing issue.  Have you tried replacing your ISP's provided DNS servers with Google public DNS to see if it helps?

They have a vendor forum here and their employees are regular GeekHack users.  Have you tried asking them?  It wouldn't be nearly as difficult as you implied.
