Amber themed artisan I've been working on.
« on: Tue, 26 July 2016, 20:38:20 »
Hello keyclackers. I just thought I would see what everybody thought of my new Ogre themed keycaps, particularly the amber colorway.

Update: I have recently opened a shop on etsy where I will be selling all future keycaps. The amber colorway should be up on the shop within a few days.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrewCaps

You can see the rest of my colorways here http://imgur.com/a/i4zhY (please disregard the reddit timestamp)

i hope to do a small sale and or giveaway soon, if people are interested.

Why are you using an alt account?

I see no reason to believe this user is associated with BrewCaps.

Cute - I like the ears :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

If you make one with a mosquito and spare no expense, I'd be highly tempted.  :thumb:

Dig the wasp. Definitely an interesting thing to put into a keycap

Hell yes, I'd totally grab one of your amber keycaps!

Do you sculpt an already existing piece of amber, or is the amber color actually a colorway and the the wasp is included during the casting? I'm guessing it's the latter given the last picture in your imgur gallery seems to have an action figure head inside the cap.

Going to let this thread notify me of your updates.

The amber color with the wasp is just a colorway. no actual amber was used. Also the last picture is just showing how the wasp colorway looks on a keyboard.

Hah I totally missed the wasp until I read the comments.  All I kept thinking was melted butterscotch.  Very interesting.

This is super sick! I've been wanting to do a beach theme cap with embedded seashells but haven't found any seashells small enough yet. That wasp must be really small.

As much as I hate wasps I don't really think I support putting it into a keycap :(
