Smart Imports....Experiences?

Hi Fellow GHers,

Wondering if you could share some of your experiences with Smart Imports.  I just ordered a HHKB "S" from them (Aug 1) from there main site.  What is there turnaround time like? Communication?...etc.

Any feedback or advice is highly appreciated.

Hi, I ordered my HHKB Type-S from them several months ago. I found their communication to be great. Their turn-around time was OK, not exactly as fast as I hoped, but they are halfway around the world from me (North America). Overall I was very satisfied with them, and went on to purchase a key cap set from them that was also a smooth transaction.

Good to hear...appreciate the reply.

I have reached out to them via there website (email) asking about delivery times , updates and so on....still have not received a reply since Aug 1.

I am a little concerned due to the fact that I like speedier communications.  If they had a phone # that would be great.  I to am in North America.

This is from their 'About Us' page. I got a reply to an email I sent two days later. Don't worry, they'll get back to you. Just remember, as it says below, to keep in mind the time differences.

I had placed an order with them for a BT HHKB and then requested to cancel it, as I luckily found one for sale here hours after placing my order.

They contacted me within 48 hours and canceled the order and refunded me. So just give it some time, you do have to remember they're actually in Japan and won't respond when you're on most likely.

How did you send the email? Did you use the 'Contact Us' page or the tab in the bottom right corner of the website? I sent an email to them yesterday using the 'Contact Us' page, and didn't hear anything this morning, so I emailed them again using the tab in the corner, asking if they had received my original email, and got a reply within a couple of hours saying they had already replied to it. Either I put in the wrong email when submitting the form, or the form on the 'Contact Us' page is broken. If you did use the form on the page, try using the contact tab instead.

I will try that wb ... as far as I know I have tried every form of contact to them, besides smoke signals.  Appreciate the tip though. :thumb:

Gotta say Im really surprised at this total lack of communication with Smart Imports.  Having read a few GH members past experiences with them I would never have dreamt such an outcome.

sorry to dig up old post  but ive just had a BAD one

i was all excited to get my all new hhkb bt
After paying for express delivery (3-5 days) it took  2 weeks to arrive

once opened i realised it was the wrong keyboard. emailed seller only to get a response 2 days later.

its now 19 days after the original purchase and I've cancelled the order and in process of getting my money back

Sorry to hear about this bad experience. When I ordered my HHKB JP Type-S, I got an email from them the next day double-checking with me to make sure I knew I was getting the JP/JIS version of the keyboard, since I live in the US. I thought that was a nice touch and good customer service. However maybe I just got lucky with my two smooth transactions. Hang in there.
