Just fixed an RS68 for a forum user, it was completely dead. Was missing some SMT parts.
to fix:
- desoldered switches
- Changed USB port as was broken
- soldered on missing SMT caps (0402 size)
- board still didn't do anything - probed it with my meter and it was full of electricity in all the places it should have been
- Hooked up my serial interface to the isp port on the board to test the controller, which was fine - took a backup of the firmware which was GIBBERISH! corrupted firmware
- Soldered a couple of switches and LEDs to see if i could get into the bootloader
- Booted the board into the bootloader
- Flashed new firmware
- Flashed key map
- moved some of the SMT LED to replace some that had been broken (moved the 2 under the RS68 logo to the side positions where some were missing - you don't need 4 LED around the logo
)
- added 2u stabs, fixed space bar stab
- Soldered it back up
- Tested
