I'm in the market for this. What are my options. Seems to be rather limited. My wishes:
Programmable
Case which covers the bottom of the switches, don't like naked GON style, but I'll take if I have to
Not with big bezels
Steel plate! I don't like aluminum plate because it bends, or any bendable plate.
PCB built so that I can use og cherry keysets, blockers (built into the case) on the winkey is a dream but I will live with 1,5x1x1,5x arrangement if I have to
Only color I'm interested in: silver/light grey
I'm not interested in LEDs at all, I like my keyboards with zero frills, no color keycaps or leds, just OG dyesub biege on silver/light grey!
The options:
LZ TriKx - gl to me finding that (WTB silver LZ TriKx)
GON 108 - Well, I have a keyboard order from dec 14 with him which is unfulfilled with him with no communication so not really psyched about ordering from him. But as side note, his boards have aluminum plates right? I've tried aluminum plate and it felt like **** compared to steel plate, will it feel equally as **** with gon or maybe not because it's a part of the case? Also only color option is dark grey, not light grey, I might be able to live with it though
Winkeyless.kr - This is also an option. But it seems that he only has acrylic plates and he has a special case with an alu plate but it's out of stock. My question: won't the acrylic plate bend like hell? I imagine it will bend even more than aluminum right?
Any other options?
For now I have Leopold FC900 (full size board). Which is OK but I hate the 1,25x1,25x1,25x, it's more of a movement to reach the alt for alt-tab. And it's not programmable of course. Other than that it's quite good, I'm not even sure if I like aluminum over plastic cases since plastic cases clunk so much when you type on them it sounds like you're doing some real work. I use the HADapter kit for it to fit the og dyesub set, so yes I need to use filthy abs keys with it. Also, beige on black is hideous.
