Help me in select parts for MS Sculp project (first DIY keyb)
« on: Sun, 25 September 2016, 12:32:52 »
As explained here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79603.msg2053482) I wanna try to build a MS Sculp/Natural keyboard.

My current keyboard is now falling apart (with some keys in the numpad not working) so I'm finally forced to move ;).

The harder part is build the curved case but I have a friend that will try to do it in wood. So let's ignore this part. This apply to the plate too.

I need help in know what else I need to source/buy. I'm ONLY concerned about clone the design of the MS keyb and put mech keys there. I open to suggestion about anything else.

This is what I have for now:

- Keys: Gateron Brown (the less noisy, right?). https://www.massdrop.com/buy/smd-led-compatible-gateron-switches
- KeyCaps: Waiting for a good looking blacks. My main concern is if a sculpted keycaps will not work here, so where find ones with the top flat? I not not need something fancy, anything that work is fine to me.

- Controller. I read that Teensy++ 2.0 is the way to go, but nothing that price is not far from arduino, will be fine to use arduino instead? (Clueless here, I haven't use before a microcontroller)

- Is necessary to buy stabilizers?

- In the previous thread someone tell me I can wire manually the keys, so I don't need a PBC

- I need diodes, resistors, others?
